Common Houses You See In Nigeria
Nigerians are just coming back from ages. Few decades ago Nigerians has a single taste in building a house. Everybody just follow the step and boom! We all have face to face house in Nigeria. But things as changed now with the internet and everything, Nigerians now see how other countries are building their houses and how beautiful and breathtaking they are.
Below I have written common houses in Nigeria with its description
1. Face to face house: The is one of the popular houses in Nigeria though it's going into extinct now but it's still common in some rural areas in Nigeria.
The house is build in such a way that the left and right rooms faces each, which brought about the name. It usually consist 8 rooms because most Nigerians have a large family; 4 to the left and 4 to the right. The house is extended with 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets, and 2 kitchen. This can be a storey building or two with the same design as the down floor.
2. Flats: This is what most people are building nowadays because we are on the era of me and my nuclear family only, no more extended family to come share your house with you. The most common one is the three bedrooms flat.
Three bedrooms flat is built in such a way that there only 3 bedrooms, 1 sitting room, 1 kitchen. While the house share a bathroom enclosed with toilet together.
3. Mud house: I know this is not a popular building in Nigeria but that doesn't mean it's not common, especially in the northern parts of Nigeria. You can also find it in some rural areas in the country.
The design of a mud house is same as Face to face house except that toilet, kitchen and bathroom are outside of the main house. In addition, there is no storey building of a mud house.
